CEBU CITY, Philippines—A top-notch motocross racing event will highlight the 151st founding anniversary celebration of San Remigio town this weekend at the MS Motosuit Motorsports Park in Barangay Calambua.
The motocross racing is organized by Cebu’s “Godfather of Motocross,” Lou Ornopia, who is also a councilor of San Remigio.
“Magpalumba ko tungod ug alang sa gugma sa motocross inubanan sa hangyo sa katawhan nga gimingaw na gyud sa maong aksiyon kay taud-taud naman ta wala makapahigayon niini. Mapahimuslan sab unya ni ang atong race track nga usa sa labing nindot dinhi sa Visayas,” said Ornopia.
(I am organizing a race for my love for motocross together with the clamor of the public for a race because it’s been a while that we’ve held a race. And we can finally use our race track, which is one of the best in the Visayas.)
The MS Motosuit Motorsports Park spans over 10 hectares and has a 2.3-kilometer specially designed race course that caters not just motocross, but other off-road motorsports.

Around a hundred motocross riders from in and outside Cebu are expected to compete in the upcoming racing event.
Ornopia, for his part, is grateful to San Remigio’s LGU for its all-out support on the upcoming event.
Comeback
One of Ornopia’s goal of having the event is to introduce San Remigio as the new “Motocross Capital of Cebu.”
Besides being the highlight of the 151st founding anniversary of San Remigio, the motocross event also serves as the comeback race for MS Motosuit’s year-round racing series, which is targeted to return next year.
“Mahinumduman nga 23 years nakong nagpalumba diri sa Calambua nahunong lang tungod sa pandemiya. Karon nga normal na ang sitwasyon, regular na ni nato himoon labi na kay ibalik man nato ang atong motocross series next year,” said Ornopia.
(It can be recalled that I’ve been hosting races in Calambua for 23 years and was only halted due to the pandemic. Now that the situation is almost normal, we will regularly hols this motocross event next year.)
“Gawas sa paglambo ang sports, amo sab gitinguha nga mapakita ang kaanindot sa among lugar, mapalambo ang turismo sa among dapit, ug makahatag og kapanginabuhian sa mga tawo pinaagi niining atong gibuhat,” Ornopia concluded.
(Aside from promoting sports, we also want to showcase the beauty of our place, improve tourism in this area and give locals a source of income through what we do.)

(ESL)

There is no shortage of variety of beer in New Jersey.
The Garden State is full of microbreweries and each has its own unique look and taste.
VinePair did a deep dive into Beer Advocate’s top-rated beers to come up with the highest-rated beer in each state.
They established this by only considering beers with a rating of 100 or more.
New Jersey’s favorite beer comes from Kane Brewing Co. in Ocean. The beer of choice? It’s called Sunday Brunch and it’s an Imperial Milk Porter with Rook coffee (the best coffee there is), cinnamon, and maple syrup.
That’s what I love about breweries in New Jersey.
There’s always some unique, seasonal beer to try.
Recently, Kane Brewing Company teamed up with Delicious Orchards to release the Donut Shack, an apple cider donut IPA.
I would assume the Sunday Brunch will have some competition soon since Source Brewing Co. in Colts Neck just released their collab on Wednesday with Jersey Freeze.
If you’re in Central Jersey/Jersey Shore area and have never been to Jersey Freeze, don’t admit that, just go and try it out for yourself.
You might even run into some famous celebrities.
The brewery and ice cream place have come up with the Rocky Road ice cream-flavored Imperial Pastry Stout and if you like strong beer, how’s 13% ABV sound?
I would love to know what your favorite New Jersey beer or brewery is so I can make a list of the Garden State’s favorites.

What food goes great with beer? Pizza of course!
Dave Portnoy, commonly known as El Presidente, is the founder of Barstool Sports. Somewhere along the way, he decided to start reviewing local pizzerias, and the concept took off. Here is every New Jersey pizzeria Dave has stopped in, along with the score he gave them.
The post above reflects the thoughts and observations of New Jersey 101.5’s Morning Show Producer Kristen. Any opinions expressed are her own.

New Jersey Devils fans were not happy that referees disallowed a goal against the Toronto Maple Leafs and started throwing beer and other items on the ice in frustration.
The Maple Leafs, who were up 2-0 with 11:07 to go in the third period against the Devils, a team on a 13-game win streak, headed back into their locker room to avoid any of the debris hitting them.
Erik Haula, who put it in the back of the net against Toronto, went onto the ice to tell fans to stop throwing things so they could resume play.

Some fans at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. didn’t get the message.
It was the third Devils goal of the game that got called back, this time with Haula kicking the puck that appears to hit off his stick and go into the net for a shorthanded goal.
The first time refs called off a goal against the Devils came on a shot from Jonas Siegenthaler that saw Nathan Bastian interfering with Maple Leafs goaltender Matt Murray. The refs immediately called it no goal.

Then, Tomas Tatar skated into Murray as the netminder cleared the puck from behind his net, but it quickly returned, crossing the red line for a goal. Again, though, refs called interference.

Seeing it for the third time, the fans’ boos weren’t enough to show their frustration.
HOW FIVE WOMEN BECAME NHL ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGERS
Once play resumed, Devils defenseman Dougie Hamilton wasted no time getting New Jersey’s first real goal of the game, potting a deflection in front of Murray to make it a 2-1 game.
But it wasn’t enough, as Toronto finally handed New Jersey their first loss in 14 games, ending their win streak that tied a franchise record. Pontus Holmberg and John Tavares were the goal scorers for the Maple Leafs.

Devils fans will leave Prudential Center frustrated with how that one went, but will hope their team can start a new win streak when they take on the Buffalo Sabres Friday at 8 p.m. ET.
